General Machinist

Responsibilities of the General Machinist:

• Build and repair tools, dies, fixtures, and components

• Set up and safely operate manual machining equipment including mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, and band saws

• Perform preventative maintenance on toolroom equipment

• Read and interpret blueprints, design specifications, and part drawings

• Utilize measuring devices including micrometers, calipers, Go/No-go gauges, and indicators

• Assist Toolmakers with projects and tooling support as needed

Qualifications of the General Machinist:

• Previous machining or toolroom experience required

• Experience operating manual machining equipment required

• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings required

• Experience with surface grinders, lathes, mills, drill presses, and band saws preferred

• Must be able to lift up to 25lbs regularly and up to 100lbs occasionally with assistance

• Associate’s Degree, Technical School training, Journeyman’s Certificate, or equivalent experience preferred

Pay & Schedule:

• Pay based on experience

• Full-time schedule

• Overtime may be available based on production needs
