1st Shift Production Manager

Overview
The Production Manager oversees a two-shift manufacturing operation, working closely with supervisors, leads, and employees to ensure safe, efficient production while meeting quality, delivery, and customer satisfaction goals. This role focuses on improving labor, materials, and equipment efficiency and reports to the CT Plant Manager.

• Plan production schedules and coordinate with supervisors and the internal sales team.

• Manage and maintain the division’s ERP system.

• Improve workflow by maximizing machine uptime and reducing production delays.

• Coordinate schedules in a high-mix manufacturing environment.

• Optimize machine utilization, production rates, and material usage.

• Lead, develop, and communicate expectations to production teams.

• Ensure proper onboarding and training for new employees.

• Drive process improvements including cycle time reduction and changeover efficiency.

• Maintain a safe work environment and enforce safety standards.

• Monitor department KPIs and oversee monthly inventory counts.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field preferred.

• Prior manufacturing experience and strong understanding of production environments.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish required.

• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• 5+ years of management experience in a manufacturing environment with machine operation or assembly processes.

• Lean manufacturing experience preferred (Green Belt or Black Belt).
